Steampunk Couple

I have been fascinated with Steampunk for several years now. With having "movie night" this past weekend I had gotten my two main elves dressed in their old Dollheart outfits and seeing them together enforces that I not only will keep them Victorian but will add Steampunk to their backgrounds. So this means re-doing two of the major rooms in Reddiker Woodes (which has been a long awaited project anyway). And with the help of my talented friends can bring their story a little more ahead. So happy.

Invasion of the Mechtorians

I love getting instant updates from the doll companies and not all actually send out dolls.  Some send out great toys, clothes, purses that can actually be used by humans, and vinyl goodies.  A few weeks ago the great company in Canada, FeatherFall sent me a notice that some vinyl Steampunk toys were coming out and they are series one, which means there hopefully should be more.  I've just got a quick shot of them, and they are still in the box.  I think they will look great in backgrounds and on the bookcases.

They are made by Doktor A, hand painted and about four inches tall.  I'm intrigued to see what the second series is going to be.

 

 
 

Make Me Some Gears

One of my craft magazines came in this week, that's called Make.  I first started getting this magazine on it's debut about two years ago I think it was.  Well, this past issue is just packed full of Steampunk goodness.

The Steampunk Assistant

A few weeks ago, hell, almost a month now, I received Constance and Gustave's Dollheart outfits, and just now got them in them.  I was getting pictures of Gustave's new shoes, and brought Constance back into her rightful place on the night-stand, and took a few pictures.  Well, took a lot actually, but she's just so cute, and the outfit is perfect.  This is Dollhearts The Assistant, and it match's Gustave's Gentelmanship's outfit perfectly.  Both outfits I got so I can alter them to the best of my ability and make into Steampunk.  Just little bits here and there, mostly take off the silver and replace with copper, gears, and cogs.  Her outfit consists of many pieces: hat, arm cuffs, ruffled shirt, with many small friggen buttons, corset, pleated skirt, white underskirt, white pouffy skirt, bloomers, bow, and cameo pin.  Getting her dressed is worse than getting Little Man dressed, but she's in it and will be in it at least for a while.  I even got her a pair of arm/Doc Marten type boots to complete the ensemble.  Photographing the pin-stripping is kinda hard, but it's such a beautiful outfit.

      

Weekend Goodies

Went back to the Antique store on Mothers Day, and it was lovely.  We must have spent at least three hours in there.  Even Little Man was a good boy and got a new car out of the trip.  The clocks below were our big find, and fairly cheap.  FireHoth has taken them apart and they are being cleaned, (very greasy little gears).  The big clock, not sure how old it is, but I'm pretty sure there had been some little critters living inside it at one time.  Very dust, but yielded some great gears.
   

More Goodies

The other day, I got two really nice boxes, one from Korea, and one from evilBay.  The evilBay one consisted of a little traveling suitcase, mini record player, that actually is a small music box, glasses, a lantern and a small wallet.  Now, what to do....

The second box, from Korea (Dollmore) had a tone of cool things that doughgiirl and I ordered.
New boots, doctors bag, jewelery, finally size right goggles, and they threw in some free stuff also.

Annie Get Your Gun?

Just had Constance dressed in her Dollheart Blue-Berry outfit, and her rifle.  Wanted to play with some of the options on the new camera to see how she looked, and as always, she looks beautiful.  I need to take some outdoor pictures of her in this, but these were done late at night, while she sits on my nightstand, on guard duty.
      

   

Steampunk

Steampunk is not the newest culture to emerge, but it's a fun one.  I had always loved H.G.Wells, League of Extraordinary Gentleman, and a book that I've had in my possession forever, For Faerie Queen and Country. I just never knew that, that's what genre the book was in. I knew it was Victorian, but had heard the word "cyberpunk" at one time, and didn't like that phrasing for it.  Doughgiirl is doing up her Gabby as overseer of her Dark Carnival and her main Steampunk character,and I can't wait to see how she comes out.  She gave me the below gun as one of the props that Gabby has, to keep rule in the carnival.  I love the pink ribbon on the guns.  The rifle I'm actually going to give to Constance and put in the Vampire Killing Kit Box(that was made for another long ago storyline that will finally come to print), and the little pistol will go to M.E.O.W.

I love the props, stories and ideas behind this and started to look up and find some very interesting cool things.  One of the biggest accessories for Steampunk are goggles, and gears, of all sorts.  I had wanted a pair of goggles for one of the members of the family for a while, and Dollmore is now stocking them.  These are winging their way to the states as we speak.  They of course will have to be jazzed up a bunch, but I've finally getting a pair.  Doughgiirl is getting the red pair, and I can't wait to see those in person.

One of the ideas I've had in my head that I've wanted to do for a while is have Constance and my boy, (who is undergoing a body/sculpt transformation) is to have them dressed alike in a Victorian era, and I've been lucky enough to have these coming to the house.  both Dollheart.  The boys outfit is the "Gentlemanship" with walking stick and the girls is "the Assistant".
       
Oh, I love them.  They weren't produced at the same time or even came out at the same time, but they match fantastically.  I had thought about doing Constance in browns, but the outfit that I had found just looked to stiff and rigid, but this one is cute, flirty, lots of pieces and will match his. Boots, and many other items are coming to go with both outfits, and the story ideas are killing me. So now I can add the various Steampunk goodies to both outfits, and see what they come up with. 

And no, my Constance and Gustave aren't "going" Steampunk, I just like the option of doing them up for some future story lines, and photo stories.

Cute little set that was found at BN over the weekend.  The little "cage" will be painted bronze and done up with some correct gears and such.
