I Can Drive, I Passed My Test

So, I've been spamming my self all over the web today and damn proud of it.  I went to the DMV today and took my driving licenses test and PASSED.  YAHOO.  The state of Colorado says that I'm qualified to be behind the wheel of a vehicle.  I rock if I do say so myself.  This has been decades in the making, and all for my precious little man to get him to school in August and maybe even me to the hobby store without FireHoth.  So weird, I'm still not comprehending this.  

I want to thank you all who have supported me in the past few months.  You have know idea how much I've appreciated it. All of the positive thoughts really have helped and I'm very grateful.  So now on my birthday we have LOTS to celebrate for :) I hope that my father, (goddess rest his soul) that he's happy with his baby girl finally getting her license.  And I have to say, I'm much better than the 16 year olds who also got their license today. LOL

Now all I have to do is wait for my cool personalized plates to come in the mail and Mr. Tingles will be truly all mine.  My little Halloween car and I and my back seat driver (Little Man) have many, many adventures to await us. I just need to put a protection spell around it and we're done.

My Wing Man(Woman)

Finally little CinCin has made it into Mr. Tingles, but we've yet gotten her a good seat where she's not either laying down or sliding across the dash board.  While stopped to fill up my tank, I posed her and got a couple of quick shots.  Her outfit is really cute, but doesn't leave a lot of room for flexibility, so she's got a couple of Karate outfits on order for her and one that will match Mr. Tingles. I still need to place her around the tires, steering wheel, and bring out her tools. 

     
 
 

Mr. Tingles is Home

OH MY GOD, I can't believe that I have waited almost three decades to learn to drive, but the day is finally here.  Mr. Tingles, my 2008 Tangerine LX Honda Element is home with me and he's all mine. With having Little Man, and the wedding and the last several years, I can now just concentrate on driving and my car.  Over the weekend, we went to see the one that came in for me, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it was mine.  

FireHoth drove it to an empty parking lot for me to get use to it and see how it felt and if this was what I really wanted, and I must have drove for at least an hour.  Went back to the leasing agent and gave them the deposit, and now it's mine.  It was snowing over the weekend, and still recovering from a bad cold, but it was the most thrilling thing I've done since having Little Man. Even Little Man loved it, and wanted me to drive more in the parking lot. He's got so much more room in the back of Mr. Tingles than in George (Daddy's truck).  He almost seems lost, but he has a moon roof on top and is discovering an entire new world.

 

Practicing in the snow is perfect also. I always knew since living in the Rockies that I would learn in the snow, and since it happens to be here for about four months out of the year, it only makes sense, and I'm fine with that.
   
FireHoth let me go by myself.  Having an empty parking lot really helps.

      

I'm going today to try for my permit.  I've barely been able to look at my drivers manual, but I passed it once, so I hope I do again.  Last night we went to Walmart and got all of my essentials; fuzzy dice, LED tire caps, personalized license plate holder, oh and even a first aid/road side emergency kit.  (Pictures forthcoming)

Blast From the Past

Okay, so technically it's not my car, but while we were out over the weekend we went to the grocery store, really late on Saturday, and while pulling into the parking lot I saw my dad's car.  When I was growing up my dad has this beautiful 66 burgundy Oldsmobile Cutlass Toronado, with white leather interior.  This car was so nice and so powerful.  It was the car I was actually bought home in when I was born, sitting on my moms lap, with NO SEAT BELT or car seat.  Well, I don't know who's car this was, someone from either the grocery store or the car shop next door, but it was so fun to see.  I'm going to have to stalk the parking lot now to find out who actually owns this one.  It brought back a wave of emotions when I saw this car, that I just had to get a picture of it, even at night.  It's not the best picture, but it's been making me smile.

I Can't Drive, 55!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so many of you who read this blog, have known for a while, that I don't drive. I not only can't drive, don't own a car, and don't like most drivers, (they are all nuts and really need to take the driving test over again). I'm pretty sure that would cut down on about 75% of the car population. So from being a "passenger" for most of my life, the inevitable has happened. No, I don't have a license yet, but unfortunately, it's coming sooner than later. My dream car has always been a 66 Mustang. That's not going to happen. One, I wouldn't do that to my dream car, and two, cost way to much to make it an automatic. So many cars have been in the running as the "next new dream car" of my choosing.

This has all come down from FireHoth having me drive George, in empty parking lots for the last couple of weeks. "George" was bought shortly before we found out we were pregnant with Little Man. He was an upgrade to Truckasaurus (2 seater Dodge Ram). Just because you have children, doesn't mean you need a mini van. Car seat fits great in the back seat and it's all for Little Man. With Little Man getting older, he's eventually going to have to go to Kindergarten and school. In order for that to happen, either FireHoth has to quick work/rearrange his schedule, or me drive him. Everyone is picking the latter for this to happen.

So with driving "George", and by the way, is a huge friggen truck. Not sure what we were thinking about when that deal got signed, but he's a little to big for me to drive and to really learn on. Hence, the looking at my new "dream" cars.

So all of you Colorado drivers, have many, many, MANY months to get off the road, before I get behind the wheel of a 5000 pound death machine, just to let you know. Oh, and Comprehensive insurance coverage will be first and foremost.

I hate "mini van's" and "SUV's" with a passion, but some compact ones, have made their way onto the list.

2008 Toyata Rav4. Also must be in red, Burgundy, or custom pink.

2008 Nissan Xterra.

So even if my new baby, isn't pink per say, I've found several sites to trick it out how I want:

Car Decals. Hey, I'm allowed to act like I'm 16, and I'll have all of my points.

Master Drive. Wow, I'll be the only one in the class that can buy. alcohol.

XM Radio. $12.00 a month and I get to listen to 70's music all day long with no commercials.

On Star. Just in case I need to know how to get to the west coast. Oh yeah, I-70 till you hit the water.

Hubcaps and More. Every way to trick out your ride. Why not.

Colorado DMV. I guess it has to be somewhere.

First Aid Kit. You have to be prepared in this state, snow storms, wildfires, earthquakes, I-25 parking lot.
