Since every year, or at least every January it seems we do some sort of project to the house and it's been fun. First year was do the basement before we moved in, next year was get the roof on the back porch, the year Little Man was born, he got his nursery all done up, the next year, we completely did the back yard with turf grass, and it's never been better (no bugs, no weeding, no cutting, no nothing) always green and pretty, the next year painted out master bedroom, year after that I got both of my offices done up to benefit scrap booking and the dolls, and last year the wedding consumed pretty much everything.
I've been telling FireHoth since he's working on models in the basement, he needs to fix it up and make it not only workable, but pretty. Okay, pretty isn't the right word, but more grown up I guess. Below are pictures from when we first moved in way back in 2003, and with the construction of finishing the basement, which is just weird to see now.
Steal frame, insulation, electrical and drywall all were done before we moved in.
Then just before our open house back in 2003, the pool table, poker table, bar and some sports memorabilia is up. Pool table when it was actually clean and barley used except for various doll meets.
I still haven't painted the steps but if all goes well, our painter will come in and make them antique wood to match the baseboards, doors and new furniture. As you can see, I'm already gathering supplies for this coming Christmas. Going to actually do red and green, go figure. The side walls going down, will probably have all of the sports stuff on it, since the main part of the basement will be centered on War War II items.
How the room looked on Sunday before the destruction started. Hey look the purple love seat from the library has made it's way down here.
Pool table for what it's being used for now. All of FireHoth's modeling supplies, models, and magazines. Way too much crap on the walls.
Now as of Sunday January 3rd, we went out and found some great desk sets and bookcases for him from American Furniture. Well they delivered on Saturday, so the pool table had to be destroyed. I think FireHoth had way too much fun doing this. It's amazing what slate sounds like when it's being broken with a sledge hammer. Our trash man is going to love us.
I can't believe how much room is in the basement now. As of this writing, all of the sports stuff, pictures and other stuff have been taking down. Hopefully I can get pictures up before this posts.
