Summer Can't Get Here Fast Enough

Well, there's a surprising statement from me.  You'd think that with mine and FireHoth's birthday in the summer that would be enough, but no.  The best thing to get me excited about summer is the release of the OS iPhone 3.0 update. We truly will never get anything done now.  I would have to say that the best thing on our phones, besides the great coverage is the Applications.  With Apps like, iSight Words, Planets, iTot Cards, Star Walk, and many more, I've been able to jump start Little Man's pre-schooling.  It's amazing. We had gotten him flash cards and he had been learning the planets and states, but with the iPhone it's faster and he responds so much better to it.  Plus we can watch YouTube and teach him all of the songs from School House Rock, (the seventies versions), and all of the nursery rhymes.  Oh and being able to carry around my music at the same time to accept a call is just icing on the cake.  Even if you don't have the phone, get the iPod Touch. :)

First post from the iPhone. I've been wanting to work with Evelynn lately, so she's been traveling around the house. Also working on using both my thumbs to type. Evelynn is sitting on my lap to have her story told. I've put on her sleeping head and changed her wig. She's also been wearing her Dollheart Purple Fer lately and looks quite elegant and sad.

Blogging Made Easier

Yippee, I can blog from my iPhone made possible by TypePad.  I knew there was a reason why I like this service and I love my iPhone.

Even Ash will blog on the go now. :) ha ha ha ha

Iphone Pictures

So almost a week into having the new phones in the house, I've taken several pictures, and wow, I'm shocked at how well they are turning out.  Not like my actual 10 megapixel, but for a phone camera, great quality.  My only problem is getting Little Man to stay still for them, but that's a problem with the other camera also.  All in all, very, very pleased with the quality of the camera.

A Little Dilema

ASH: So is this the reason why I've been in the same clothes and in your purse for almost a week?

ME: Well, that, the wedding invitations, the dollhouse, a new bed for you, Little Man, life in general.  I thought you'd enjoy the rest.

ASH: But I'm still in the same clothes that I've been in for about a week, if not longer, and this bright and shiny toy is just a passing fad.

ME: It's not a fad, and trust me, this will help both you and I much better.  I'll be even more organized than what I am now, and I'll be able to show off your pictures, Izzy's, and all of Reddiker Woodes while we are out, without having to carry a photo album.  And I'll be able to take your picture even if I don't have my camera.

ASH: Hmmffh, well, I guess this is might be a good thing. I don't want to be in your purse though for as long as what I was, or ever again.  And, a change of clothes.  Hey, can you make this your wallpaper?

ME: (Ash's ADD kicked in) I'll see.  I'm use to having Little Man's pictures as my wallpaper, but I'll be open to suggestions once I get some more things worked out.

ASH:Did I hear you right when you said there is another house here?  And a new bed for me?  That's a good way to start making up to me.

 

Frivolous Organization?

Extremely important organization for someone as anal as myself.

Since the roll out of Mac's iPhone last year, or almost two years ago, FireHoth has been biting at the bit for one. Luckily our contract with T-Mobile wasn't up until this past weekend, so I was able to research, test, play, and wait thankfully for the second generation to come out before we bought one.  But now that the time has come for the contract to be up and the five years of our abuse on our poor Razor's the iPhones are in the house, and we couldn't be more excited.  My trepidation with these was that I had been so use to the old "flip" phone, with no features, lousy camera, and bad reception that I couldn't see or fathom the idea of the price tag. 

We are on day three and I've already taken out three items in my purse that don't need to be there ANYMORE, (photo albums, iPod, flash drives) and working on my much beloved day-timer.  I'm afraid of dropping my new toy either on the floor or in the toilet, like I've done with previous phones, cameras and pedometers.   I'm being much more cautious right now though.  Go figure.  The excitement of this month, or the last 21 days to the purchase has been highly anticipated for the both of us.  Even Little Man gets some play time with the phone, (he's got his own bookmark on UTube for the Discovery Channels Boom-de-a-dah commercial and it's has to be played at least seven times a day).  

Once all of the updates, porting of numbers, contacts and bookmarks have been done, the easier it's become to understand the hype around them.  FireHoth even named his, Phiona. Oh he cracks me up.  I haven't named mine yet, but I'm sure that will come with time.  

So far, everything about it is fantastic.  The only thing I think I'm not going to like, is that I know for a fact that a bigger gig version (ours 16 gig) will come out next summer, and that will drive me insane.  Already is.  FireHoth has almost maxed his out with his Pod Casts, but I've still got at least four gigs left on mine.  I'm so proud of myself.  So what have I come to conclude about our new shiny toy...

PROS

1. Tons of features

2. All of my photos including Little Man, dolls, FireHoth and every thing else I can get to on my phone's desktop to Flikr

3. Cool Applications, (already have the moon phases)

4. Much smaller

5. Easier to use

6. Great little camera on it

7. I can take NOTES (sticky notes in my pocket)

8. I can get rid of heavy useless, multiple objects in my purse finally

9. NO DAY-TIMER ???????

10. Great sound, connection and reception

11. Early Christmas present (who needs a new washer and dryer? I have rocks and a stream)

12. Can buy many pretty skins

13. Finally have GPS, never need a map again

14. Was able to keep old numbers, YAHOOOOOO

CONS

1. High price tag

2. Feels like I cheated on T-Mobile after all of these years

3. Not getting any sleep, because of playing with the phone

4. Nothing else for Christmas LOL

5. Skins are going to bankrupt me

6. NO DAY-TIMER ?????????

7. Get hourly updates on the Stock Market (sucks)

8. Can post to my blog on the go (could be hazardous to my health)

9. Haven't played with the dolls in days

10. Taking even more pictures of Little Man (now to keep him still)

11. Learning to type with my thumbs

ASH: Does this mean I'll have more room in your purse now?  Do I get a bigger bag?
