I truly feel sorry for peolpe who don't have kids and don't like kids, I really do. All they want to do is be loved by you and talked to and played with and just be there with. Watching some of this crap about Casey Anthony has just made me sick that you could hurt a child like this as sweet and as innocent as she was. Pretty much all I'm going to say on that is, that bitch will get her payback, it might not be today, it might not be tomorrow, but she will get hers and it when it comes around I hope that they do to her what she did to that beautiful little girl, if justice prevails, they will make her suffer even more. People who don't have kids are really missing out, and those who can have them and choose not to, oh well, then there will be nothing left of your legacy and that's probably a good thing that you don't procreate. Those that can't should seek help to try if they really want them, but if you just live in your own little world and and feel that you need to be number one and be the center of attention then that's even sader. To dislike other peoples children is just plain spiteful and petty and what goes around, comes around.

 

Yes, they can be a handfull and there are no perfect children, anywhere, but when you are having a bad day, or your boss has made your work overtime, or traffic is crazy, and all they want to do is come up and give you a hug it's better than any amount of money you have in the bank, better than whatever car you drive, better than whatever house you live in and it's certainly a hell of a lot better than an animal. Children are important and their legacy will linger longer than a dog or a cat. Get mad at this post, agree with it or disagree, my give a damn doesn't work anymore and I really don't care. When you hear those words, "mommy, I love you", "I'll give you a hug", it makes up for all the petty ass manic depressive, bi-polar, self centered peolple in the world. Anyone who harms my child, physically, or emotinoal better find a hole and stay there, becuase when I'm done with you, you'll wish your parents would have never had you. I wont lie down for that and I will not take that crap from anyone on this planet.

 

Us waiting for our little girl has been a emotional rollercoster and we know that the perfect little girl will be out there for us, she's just waiting to be born, specially for us and it will be one of the most happiest days of all of our lives to finally have her with us. To have a daughter to go and do mani-pedi's with, to have 1000's of tea parties, in frilly dresses, for her big brother to protect her and not let any harm come to her, for her daddy to always be "daddy" forever and be the most important man in her life, and even for her and mommy to fight about makeup and clothes, and boys, and dating, oh the fun that'll be, but you know what, It'll be all worth it, becuase we will have shared our history and our values and our family witht them, and they can go on and have kids and the cycle can keep going. Cause once your dead, only your children will remember you, no one else will. There will be that occasional thought about you, but it's not the same without a legacy.

 

My own mom is getting ready to come down and hang out with her grandson next week for a few days and seeing her with him just makes me so happy. She might not have been the perfect mother, or been able to provide for my sister and I the way I can for my children, but she did the best she could with what she had, but she had us and that makes me the luckiest person in the world, to have been born and give her grandchildren. We went to Little Man's Great-Grandfathers 95th birthday over the weekend and I noticed the feeling that was in the room, it was of love and hope and optimission over everyone and to be alive for 95 years and have your entire family there, and see what you did, that you made that happen, you made this family possible has really touched me more than what I thought it would. Even grandparents that we don't see as often, just loved and hugged all over Little Man and the words of praise we heard about him about how big he's gotten and how he talks, and talks a lot and how smart he is, and how he acts. That made me feel good as a mother and no-one can take that away from me, NO BODY. He had all of his aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents and great-grandparents there, it was great. I just hope and pray that he remembers this time and that we'll be able to share the rest of the family with our daughter. I truly am blessed. It might have taken years to get here, but I had drive and determination and it's all been worth it.

Walk Like An Egyptian

A few weeks ago it was FireHoth's birthday, and I totally surprised him with a great gift.  I had found out earlier in the year that the King Tut Exhibit was coming to the Denver Art Museum, and I quickly jumped on the early packages that they had. I booked us a "top of the Brown" package at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, and it was so much fun. One, living here for most of my life, I had only been in the Ellyntons restaurant once and that was like in the 90's, and have never gotten to stay there so I figured this would be the best place to stay.  Plus it's only about a 10 minute walk to the Museum.  He had know idea that any of this was being done for him. We got the room, a spa package, the exhibit and walked around downtown and checked out the beautiful churches, Holy Trinity and Holy Ghost, both were having wedding rehearsals at the time. We even got to take part in the little history tour that they do of the hotel, and found out a lot of interesting facts about the hotel and the property it sits on.  More can be seen here.

Over The River & Through the Woods

Well, down the street and to the right, but I like the title.  We try and see FireHoth's grandparents, which are Little Man's GREAT Grandparents at least once a month.  They get such a kick out of seeing him and it makes us happy.  I have no pictures of my grandparents let alone Great-Grandparents so these are very special moments for all of us. Wizard of Oz Night

I'm 43 years young, FireHoth is 33 years young and Little Man is almost 4 and this is the first time that we have all seen the Wizard of Oz in the theater.  For one night only, Wednesday night all over the nation, the movie was being seen by generations young and old and including us.  When we went to see 9 last week, we saw the trailer for it and immediately got our tickets for this once in a life time event.  It might be shown at it's 100th anniversary and Little Man will be able to take his children, and we'll be seniors by then. I'm pretty sure if we are still around and can see, we'll go and enjoy it with our grand children.  But for now, we have to see it.  Little Man will probably be the only kid in his class that has the ticket stub from this, and will be able to tell that he saw it in the theater.  

I've watched this movie since I was his age and have loved it ever since, and have also learned how to watch it with the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon album and that makes it even better.  The Blue Ray edition is also out now and can't wait to have it on at the house, over and over again. It will be such a treat to enjoy this with Little Man on the big screen the way it should be seen and for him to have it engraved into his DNA and for him to share when he gets a family.

The ticket stub will be great in his movie ticket book that I've already started to make for him.  It was a late night, cold and snowy, but so worth it. A sold out house and a second showing.  Little Man sat through the entire movie, no bathroom breaks and loved it.

   

ER Drama

Well, it's finally happened, our first trip to the Emergency Room with Little Man. He's a boy and I've got to remember that.  We were all coming down the upstairs steps a couple of Fridays ago, and as usual, Little Man has to be the first one to do anything and be first wherever he is going.  He got to the bottom step, and tried to open the baby gate by himself, well, he pushed so hard he pushed through it, he landed on the tile floor with the gate on top of him. YIKES. He immediately got up, started crying and we figured that it just scared him and he hurt his elbow, so when he went to turn around to go into the living room, we noticed the goose egg knot on his head with some blood.  That got us a trip to the ER. Thank god for great health insurance.  They checked him out, and by the time we left the swelling had come down, he got a popsicle, and a new teddy bear.  We all went out to dinner, he ate an entire pizza and bowl of ice cream.  I have to admit, I was scared to death, but kept it together for Little Man.  He was a trooper and was more concerned with all of the cool stuff at the ER than anything.

   

Birthday, Harry Potter and Nana

Wow that's a lot for a an entire day, or more like weekend.  Nana came down to watch Little Man, so FireHoth and I could go out for a date and see Harry Potter, (which was fantastic by the way), then we all went out for a grand dinner.

  

  

  

Birthday Fun for Me

Yes my birthday was two weeks ago, and turning from 42 to 43 is much better.  I'm healthier, (finally got rid of my wisdom teeth, less headaches and less jaw pain) happier, (always happy for the most part), thinner (I've hit my goal weight and so happy to see single digits in my clothes again I can't stand it) much rejoiced happy dance for that,  and have much more energy (Little Man and I go on many more walks now).  I'm getting a lot accomplished this year, and this year is a huge, big busy year (with planning the wedding). I've met some great friends through Flickr and actually through FaceBook, and have connected with some old friends. So yeah, I'd say goodbye 42, and hello 43.  I had a great day and it continued into the week even.  This is going to be even a much better year than the last one and just have more to look forward too.  

Not only did I get some cool gifts, but I managed to find some cute and interesting things for me as usual.  One that came in on my birthday was the Daily Mood.  I love this little book and it's been getting used a lot. There are 42 different moods to pick from for the day.  Now the boys in the house will know when PMSing starts.

Random Little Man

One of the best things I love doing still, and probably will till he's moved out and in college, is going in and watching Little Man sleep.  The other day I went to get him and it was actually a little late in the morning.  He was just barely waking up and I was able to get some of these shots of him.  I think he went blind from the flash, but I got my picture.

Not only does Little Man have gotten some kick ass computer programs, (he's actually working on 5-9 year old reading) :) we got him a little easel for his table to work on his writing and drawing.  I love this thing.  It's a magnetic board and dry erase board on one side, then chalk board on the other side.  Came with markers, eraser, letters and chalk. At the bottom is even a roll of paper for him to bring up and draw on.  WHERE WERE THESE TOYS WHEN I WAS THREE???

And last but not least.  Daddy got a new goalie mask several weeks ago, and we finally got little man to wear it without freaking out.  I had him growl and say LET'S GO PENGUINS during the playoffs. I think I have another goalie in the house.

A Day In the Life

Wow, so the other day I was thinking of what all we (Little Man) and I do, while dad is at work.  I started to put it down in a time line, and no wonder I'm beat at the end of the day.  This list doesn't even consist of what goes on, on the weekend and if it's summer time.  And I want him to do sports when he gets older????? What the hell am I thinking?

7:00AM-8:00AM I get up.  In this time span, make the bed, get dressed, do my hair, come down and put Merry outside, eat breakfast.  If all of this gets done before 8:00AM, then some catching up on the computer, which consists of: Flicker, DOA, Enchanted Doll, Email, and now FaceBook.  Now on Flicker and Facebook, I've got lots of people I'm talking to, and taking care of pets.  The Pets on FaceBook have consumed the rest of my free time, but they are fun to play with.

8:00AM-8:30AM: Getting Little man up.  This takes a good half hour or so.  He has to tell me whatever dreams happened throughout the night, or if he "talked" to anyone, or if someone from the bed (stuffies) have escaped throughout the night and landed on the floor. Then there is about 10 minutes of holding and rocking time, getting dressed, congratulating him on being dry, brushing teeth, potty, combing hair, and getting down the steps for his breakfast.  By the time we are downstairs, I'm exhausted. :)

8:30AM-9:00AM: Little Man's breakfast.  This can consist of oatmeal, waffles, french toast, cereal, and even now, bacon and eggs. While his breakfast is taking place, let dog back in, and check remaining mail and messages. Clean up breakfast dishes, and straighten up light house work.

9:00AM-10:30AM: Little Man's "shows" are on.  Now these are Curious George, Thomas, and Sesame Street.  I seriously didn't realize how much he was paying attention to these shows until the other day when he wanted to play the "opposite" game with me.  This has been so much fun, that we've had to write them down, (I'm too old to remember the amount of "opposites" he knows).  While he's watching the shows, I usually get some stories, photos or crafting work done, and keeping up with the 365 project book I'm doing for the year.  Little Man is multi-tasking already.  Watching his shows and playing with his cars, trucks, planes and Legos all at the same time.  I'm teaching him well.

IN THE SUMMER TIME, 9AM-NOON SPENT WALKING THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND AT THE PARK, THEN OUTSIDE IN THE BACK YARD

10:30AM-Noon: We have Pre-School to attended to.  Now this is home pre-school, and we just started to add the computer into it the other day.  Our "lesson" plans started about 18 months ago and use to take up about 20 minutes, now it's a good hour and a half almost two hours, if we do all of them.  ABC's, numbers (1-100), spelling and naming the planets, knowing all 50 states, spelling about 200+ flash cards, going over phonics, and numerous nursery rhymes on the iPhone.  I've got two pre-school/kindergarten programs installed on my old Mac Book Pro for him, and he's learning the mouse.  He might be a little behind on the mouse and the computer, but seriously, he's only three, but he knows all 50 states so I think we are doing good.  This is also a good break for me to, to be off from the computer.

Noonish-12:45PM: Lunch time.  The various amounts of fruits and vegetables I have to make for Little Man would make any farmer proud.  He can't be my boy.  Clean up lunch, then down for about an hour of play time for Little Man and One Life To Live for me.  I've been watching this soap since I was seven, and will not give it up till it goes off the air, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. :)  Catch up on more messages, emails, photos, play with pets.  Usually there is a daily call in here from Nana also.

1:00PM-2:00PM: ONE LIFE TO LIVE, QUITE TIME IN THE LIVING ROOM

2:00PM-4:30PM: Depending on how the day goes, Little Man either goes down for a nap, (which rarely happens now) or watches Wall-E, Cars, and our newest Monsters Inc.  While he's either napping or vegging out, mommy goes and walks on the treadmill for an hour and catches up on at least two shows.  When my walk is done, before Little Man wakes up or the movie is done, I get some crafting done or play time with the dolls and listen to Ellen.

4:30PM-5:00PM: Daddy's home. YAHOOOOO. Talk about the day we both had, (mine usually doesn't change much, but that's cool), talk about his day.  Little Man tells him about his day, which seems to get longer each day.  Dinner is getting prepared and catching up on news for the day.  Thank god for Fox.

5:00PM-6:00PM: Dinner time at the table, and lots of talking, especially from the three year old. He doesn't leave the house much, but he's got a lot going on. Clean up dishes, check actual mail from the post office.  If it's a good day, boxes from the post office and toys.

Potty Break

6:00PM-7:00PM: Daddy takes Little Man to the basement, (outside if summer), and I go away.  Either to the doll room, catch up on scrap booking or nice long hot shower.  The boys have bonding time together, mommy has sanity time.  It's a win, win situation.

Potty Break, Potty Break, Potty Break (or dyeing from the inside out, WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS BOY EAT ALL DAY LONG, OH I KNOW WAY TOO MUCH FRUIT)

7:00PM-8:30PM: Everyone meets back up again, has desert or snack, and lots of catching up on shows.  Thank god for the DVR.  I don't think we'll ever watch a show when it's actually on.  Little Man is happily playing with his cars/trucks/planes, eating his apples, and running around like a little maniac.  He's about as entertaining as what we are watching.  

8:35PM-8:45PM: Little Man puts away his toys, runs around MORE, (I've already thrown away about three pair of socks just this past week alone), he feeds Merry, gives out kisses and hugs.  Daddy goes to the basement, much to do down in the Man Cave, and we go upstairs to start going to sleep.

8:45PM-9:15PM: Undress, go potty, one last time, brush teeth, gets washed up (if no bath/shower), pajamas, three books I read, and one he reads to me.  We are almost on the kindergarten books.  My goal was to have him reading at a pre-school level by the end of the year, I think I can get him to be at a five year old level. :)  More hugs, kisses, special songs from mommy, and in the bed.  I usually stand by his door and listen to him, for a few minutes, and just giggle to myself. I don't know who he's talking too, but he tells them all about his day.  This can go on for about an hour, so I only state for a few. 

9:30PM-11:00PM: Back on the computer, play with pets, talk to everyone on FaceBook, go to Flicker, check all of my contacts, groups, upload pictures for the day, check posts on DOA and Enchanted, check email, (I will be buried with my computer) watch Will & Grace, Fraiser, wait for sleeping pill to kick in, be asleep by 11:15PM, start all over again in the morning.

11:15PM-7:00AM: Sleep like the dead.

Okay so looking over this, I know now why I'm tired. :) Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.  What are Little Man and I going to do when I get my Element????

You Swim, I Swim, We All Swim

Some of us sink, but it's still fun.  Little Man is in his second year of swimming and we are getting ready to transition him to the big pool, where you don't get to swim with mommy and daddy anymore, and have to sit and listen to the instructors.  So our instructor is working with him and one of the other little girls in the our group and making sure that when they go over to the other pool, that there wont be any back-sliding and repeat lessons.  So in order to do this, I get to go into the pool with Little Man, instead of daddy and for only half the class.  With the cold weather we've had, the 80+degree pool was fantastic.  Got a new bag, sandals, two new bathing suits (to be used in Jamaica) and got wet. Even Little Man got new trunks for the occasion.  Daddy took the pictures and did a really good job.  I love these pictures.  I'm always the one behind the camera or it's just him and Daddy, this time, him and Mommy.

I'm so proud of Little Man, he's done so well, and has learned to swim better than I ever will.  It was so much fun to get into the pool with him and for him to not be so use to daddy being right there.  Some good shots below and the rest in his album.  The next couple of weeks it'll be him and me, to get him use to not being with either of us, so it should be quite exciting.
