Enchanted Doll Tin

Well, I might not have my own Enchanted Doll anytime soon, but I couldn't  pass up the deal to get these collectible tins. They are big enough to house at least a 27cm doll, and of course the actual Enchanted Doll. A little to small for an MSD, but the possiblities are endless of what they can be used for. Even if just sitting out and being pretty. The shipping was extremly quick on this from Canada also. I purchased the Cinderella Tin (looks closer to what I had originally planned for JoAnna a few years ago) So pretty.

 

 

       

Pumpkin Heads Home

Yahoo.  Several weeks ago I posted about ordering some pumpkin heads from Luts and wow, the shipping on these was amazing.  They came in over the weekend and are so friggen cute.  The light that is inside of them, is on the top of the head, and even with the heads on the doll they will still light up. For now they are part of our Halloween decorations and look so cute.

Never To Early for Halloween

Luts is having their 10th year, (WOW) anniversary and are putting out the cutest little Pumpkin heads.  They will fit on the tiny (27cm) size and some MSD size, anyway, three are coming home.  They even light up. There was no way I could pass these up.

 

 

 

  

 
  
 

Invasion of the Mechtorians

I love getting instant updates from the doll companies and not all actually send out dolls.  Some send out great toys, clothes, purses that can actually be used by humans, and vinyl goodies.  A few weeks ago the great company in Canada, FeatherFall sent me a notice that some vinyl Steampunk toys were coming out and they are series one, which means there hopefully should be more.  I've just got a quick shot of them, and they are still in the box.  I think they will look great in backgrounds and on the bookcases.

They are made by Doktor A, hand painted and about four inches tall.  I'm intrigued to see what the second series is going to be.

 

 
 

Did They See Their Shadow?

A little behind on dolly posts but all kinds of good news and little ones coming in and leaving the house. First up, I've sold my little Harmony and Doyle, my Vaudeville performers.  They just weren't getting the attention they needed and were being very neglected.  They are staying in the family and will still be seen, every few weeks or so, but they are currently in new homes, and are very happy. And as usual when some leave, more seem to migrate to the Woodes, and that's good.  Fresh stock and Fresh stories.  The newest additions to the Woodes, are Charles Creature Cabinet Moles.  These came in by way of a huge mistake and not planning on my part.  I was talking with Shlee on that Markoff should have some little creatures in his bag that he's rescued for an ongoing story.  Well, we both at the same time came up with the CCC (Charles Creature Cabinet) and figured out who could come home.  I had looked at all of these little cuties when they first came out, but couldn't quite figure out a storyline for them, or concentrate on getting them with the wedding.  A few weeks ago, I went to purchase several of the smaller ones, and these were like $39.00 each, which I figured was fantastic.  Well, after getting them, I go and look on the forums to read up about them and WOW, apparently the company and the owner are going through some drama that Hollywood can't even make up. With no chance of getting my funds back, I immediately went to paypal to see what could be done.  Luckily so much negative has come on this company that my funds were returned.

Stuck with great paypal funds and no way to acquire the dolls, I put some feelers out for them.  Luckily DDE came to my rescue and had some extra little ones that I was able to get.  So the Boy and Girl twins are home, and the bigger Mole are home. As of this writing they are all three out to be blushed. More will be up about them once they come home, but they are just the cutest thing and already have names. They fit perfectly into Markoff's hands and his bag that he carries.  I need to do a picture story of them coming out of the faery garden and seeing their shadows.

      

       

      

Big Mole, who actually poses really well, is just way to sweet. I never thought I'd like the animal dolls as much as what I do, but some of them are so clever and cute.

   

    

     
 
  
  
 
 
 
 
 
 

We're An American Girl

YAHOO, A day better than Christmas could only be, an American Girl store in my town and yes, we have one now.  Park Meadows mall just opened up a store that not centered around clothing, at least not for most people.  The big opening is this morning, but while we were at the mall getting a new keyboard for my MacBook, we took the stroll to the Vistas and couldn't stop giggling.  Well, I couldn't stop giggling.  I'm not much of a fan of the dolls themselves, although I've always had a soft spot for Samantha, but all of the accessories are what I'm after, and now, I don't have to pay shipping and handling.

Pretty much all of there items for their 18 inch dolls, fit our SD's and some MSD's Ball Jointed Dolls and for us here it's heaven. I got a chance to tour the store in Chicago and just fell even more in love.  The only drawback to our store is that they don't have the Tea Shop.  They have room, so hopefully if enough people ask about it, they might put one in.  It's just a matter of time before our group invades the mall, and oh, what fun that will be.  Especially where the store sits, it's outside the mall, in the court yard, and in front mini water falls, and great landscaping.

Two Bears Walk into A Bar...

I love Etsy, and I loathe Etsy.  I think I'm there more than evilBay anymore, and at one time that use to be a good thing.  There has been an artist on Etsy that I've followed for a while now, and either she didn't have stock, or I didn't have the funds. Well, this past month, both happened at the same time and I was finally able to get her adorable little bears.  These are from Knitting Dreams and are the cutest little bears ever. Handmade Amigurumi's are all the rage, and have taken over the net.  They can range from as small as an inch to 12 inches of some that I've seen.  My two are Lea and Minu

The cutest packaging ever.  I'm not sure exactly who in the house will get one, but I think I'm keeping one just on the nightstand.  So cute.

 

The purple one is Lea, the brown one Minu.  They are about 3.5 inches tall, very soft fabric and acrylic yarn.

9 is My New 7

Saturday before last we all went to see the movie 9.  9 is Tim Burton's and Timur Bekmambetov's animated movie that is set in our world after we destroy it. It's was only about 80 minutes long, but so cool.  Steampunk, apocalyptic world and little dolls that move on their own.  So naturally I had to have them and the hunt was on.  Found them on Monday, they got delivered Thursday. So far just Number 1 and Number 9 are out, but I know I'll find the rest.  I'm not sure where they will end up at Reddiker Woodes, but right now they are taking watch on by the Mini Wheat Stage.

Out of their packaging.  They are extremely detailed and great props.  Now to find the rest of their friends.

Scratch My Back, I'll Scratch Yours?

Finally, my Lati massager came in the mail.  

These were the gifts that Lati was giving with their spring promotion, and since I didn't order anything they were pretty much all given out. But through persistence I was able to get one from one of the lovely ladies on the board from Canada. I don't know why everyone doesn't like them. I think they are funny and cute.  They are the perfect back scratcher, not to hard, not to soft, and all mine.

Because I Know My Dolls Make Me Happy

Well, after playing with my dolls for the past four/five years, I finally have been told that it was all worth it.  My dollies were recently written about in the magazine Haute Doll. When I had started in this hobby of BJD, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a phase or a life long hobby. It's turned out to be a life long hobby with the recent renovations of my offices and now a little article in this magazine.  I didn't think anyone but FireHoth, my family and a handful of people were actually looking at my blogs, but when I got an email from one of the writers of HD, and that they wanted to feature me in an upcoming issue, I was so shocked.

 

I've always loved writing, photography and crafting.  And being able to do all of these passions not only with Little Mans scrap-books, but with the dolls has been a life long achievement for me, and to be recognized for it is so special.  Being in the magazine has given me validation that they haven't been all just costly or a waste of time, but that others are actually interested in my stories, and pictures and what's going on in my little world I call Reddiker Woodes.  

My little Resin Family is just as important to me as my actual family.  They bring me so much joy and so much creative play time, that makes me appreciate the men in my life even that much more.  I feel that everyone needs a hobby of some sort, and especially us women.  We have so many things that we must do during the day; taking care of the house, working, meals, our children, that if we don't have something to do away from our everyday routine, we will snap.  You need that hour or so away from everyone, weather to read, listen to music, watch a movie, or just rest, that if you don't have this special time, to yourself, you'll just be angry and bitter all the time.

I want to thank Ms. AM for contacting me about the dolls and interviewing me, and also for Priestess of Nothing and  the Tree House for starting this.  We have so many talented writers, sewers, photographers and members in our local group, that I've heard some more will be spotlighted also, and I can't wait to see them all.
