Cliques

Wikipedia definition: A web clique is similar to a web ring, but rather than being connected by a common theme or topic they're connected by social ties, i.e. a group of friends. Web cliques are used to promote sites by increasing the number of inbound links to a particular web site. As the number of links enhances a site's ranking within a search engine, this form of cross promotion has increased in recent years.
