My Very Own Emile Autumn

The words NO MORE DOLLS FOR THE YEAR, sound great in your head and when you say it, but then when you really say it, you can never stick to it. And I'm okay with that.  I tried, almost succeeded, but I've had this idea in my head for almost a year for my Queen of Hearts doll to go along with my MiniMee Johnny Depp MSD. I've been trying to figure out which mold could go into the Alice room and be with Johnny.  For the last week or so I've been doing a ton of research on any and all MSD's, but still couldn't figure out who would be a good mold.  The other idea I had was also to have my very own version of Emilie Autumn. I love Emilie's music, her look, her Victorian/Gothic music, but not so much the drama and that's fine with me.

So I went through all of my doll sites to see who could fit both of these huge characters. I wound up looking at some "fashion" type dolls on Dollmore but couldn't figure out why their heads were so small.  They  have them measured at 16inch (44cm) Mini Super Dollfies, but with five inch heads. There were several molds that in the right wig and face-up would be good, but also at about $100.00 shipping an handling I didn't want to take the chance.  So I started looking at my old standby company, Fairyland.  I've already have about four of their MiniFee MSD's and love them.  Their posing is great and the magnet hands and sleeping face's are my top choices, but still couldn't figure out a head mold. 

Now I decided since we are so close to DDE, just go down while Little Man is in school and see what they have that could work.  I figured if anything I could put her in lay-a-way. Well, I got down there and the lovely GriffionFeathers had this beautiful new Fairyland ChicLine Lishe full set in stock and needing a home. I had seen and heard about the dolls when they came out in May, but didn't really like them.  They seemed skinnier, and wasn't to attracted to the molds.  But seeing them in person, is a huge difference.  

DDE had the full set, plus all of the summer event offers, (extra heads, lion mold, Little Fee connector, outfit and sleeping head).  After playing with her and posing her, I knew she would be the perfect Emilie Autumn/Red Queen girl.  I truly love this doll.  She'll have to have a better face up, although the face up she came with is amazing, I still want her to have more of a closer resemblance to EA.

In an old Barbie ballerina dress, white wig and little opera hat from my Poe Sisters. I've already changed out her brown default eyes.  They are pretty, but EA has gray. I've got a pair of 8mm gray in her, and although they are the right color and pretty, they are WAY too big.  Look for more of her in the next weeks.

A Barbie Day In Wonderland

My love of props is seriously going to make me nuts.  I've only been waiting for this couch for months, and it's finally here. The Jonathan Adler Barbie couch.  So nice.  I originally got it for JoAnna, but I think I'm going to keep it on my nightstand and that way several of them can sit there at night.  If I put it in her room, I'd have to totally redo it, and I like JoAnna's room how it is.  This will be good for other places in the house.

    
 
The Barbie collection of Alice In Wonderland has started to ship, and my very own Mad Hatter is home. He's basically here waiting to be undressed for whenever Planet Doll decides to make their Mini boy.  This outfit will be the perfect carnival outfit for him.  I love the red hair also.  I was able to see Alice in Wonderland on Saturday, and oh my god, best movie ever.

    

    
 
 
 
 

For the Love of Alice

A recent shopping trip to the mall, not only got me the Bella Swan Twilight dress, which fits like a glove. I'm so in love with it, but also, some more goodies from the upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie.  I'm still waiting and watching for the perfect T-shirt, but little treats along the way are very much appreciated.

I was so excited when we went to the mall over the weekend.  We walked past Hot Topic and I noticed in the window that they took the New Moon items down and their were tea cups on the windows.  That could mean only one thing.  They've started caring the Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland supplies and goodies. YAHOO. Must check back often to find just the right shirt, but for now, the key chains and the pens are all mine :) Squeal with excitement.

    
 
 

What's In a Name? Part 2

With Johnny coming into the house, he needed a body, so a quick trip to DDE and he got a Dollzone Double Jointed White Skin MSD body.  A new Monique Frank wig came home also and it's much better on him.  He's still going to always wear a hat, (the wig is just way too pouffy) but the coloring is perfect on him.  I actually have several ideas I want to do for his hat, just not sure which one I want to do.

  

Love the double jointed poses he can do.  I'm not to concerned about his body not being blushed, he's always going to be in his outfit pretty much.

And finally a chance to wear the Fairyland Fortune outfit.

  

I've got his boots on order and waiting for them to come down from Canada and he wont look so lanky.

He truly is one of the most realistic dolls I've owned and so happy I was able to be apart of the group order.  He wont be leaving the Woodes anytime soon.  He's got much work to do.

  

  

  

What's In a Name?

MiniMee, Johnny Depp, Icahbod Crane, or the Mad Hatter?  What's in a name?  Along with my Ash coming home the other day, the MiniMee head shipped also.  They were in the same box. I can't believe how well he turned out.  Although I have a brown wig and blue eyes in him, he's great.  I don't know when I'm going to get the chance to get the Alice Room done, but at least the characters (Johnny and Cheshire) are there now.  And that's fine.  It'll be like Christmas when I get to all of them anyway and very excited about how I'm going to change the room around some.  But in the meanwhile, here are some preview shots of him. Tomorrow I'll put him up with the Dollzone body and his new wig from DDE.

   

   

   

   

   

   

Mad As a Hatter

After months of waiting, that honestly for me, just went by like minutes on a clock, my MSD, MiniMee head of Johnny Depp came in.  As of this post he's actually getting a face up and getting his eyes opened out in California.  But before he left I took a few pictures of him.  This was my first "group" order that I ever did on the forums and it turned out splendid.  The young lass who was heading up the order always kept us informed and we all had very nice talks and chats about our newest family member coming in.  This was an order that got started way back before the beginning of the year and we got the 10 people that we needed to proceed, so it made the cost of his head less than $100.00.  We sent several pictures, including the ones below to MiniMee, most of which are from Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow.

  

We were only able to find this one of him from the new Alice In Wonderland Movie, and I based the wig and had from this picture. He looks absolutely crazy in it, but I like it.

So I picked white skin for my boy, and figured with the right makeup he should be a cross between the two. This outfit is the Fortune for Mini Fee. I really liked it because it has tails for the coat, and the stripes that I love from the movie.  I just need to attach some braiding on the side and it should be pretty good. I'll wait till I get him on a body before I find the boots I want.

My actual Johnny Head MiniMee in white skin.  I think he looks good, and the likeness is the 80%.  They could've opened his eyes some more, but that can get taken care of later.

The wig that I chose is more in line with the Alice movie, and is the Fairyland MFW-04 Light Brown for MiniFee.  I like it.  His brown eyes are brown 14mm, glass from Kemper.

And Johnny/Icabod all put together, in a way. Creepy.  He really needs a face up and a body.

Even Nyteshade isn't sure about him.  The skin coloring is so different.  I really wanted to put him on a Mini Fee body, but their head/necks are really different.  So I think it's come down to an Angel of Dream, which luckily DDE sells.

And, so he doesn't get lonely, this little guy will be my birthday present. Much more on him later.

Etsy Love

I swear, Etsy will bankrupt me faster than evilBay ever could.  I don't have to wait for auctions to come up, just shop.  I decided I needed a little something, and that was a nice new bag for my little camera.  I was looking around for Lati clothes and other things, and stumbled upon this cute Alice in Wonderland inspired clutch bag.  It's the perfect size for my camera and I can hook it on my belt loop and it's completely protected.  Plus, it's Alice in Wonderland, so it had to come live here.  I think Pearl approves also.

Mad As A March Hare

Could it get any better than this?  Johnny Depp, Mad Hatter, perfect world.

There's even a push on DOA for a doll made of him.  I'm hoping that it's not till after the first of the year though.  Tim Burton is in production now, and 2010 can't get here fast enough.

My Wonderland

Fairies, Dolls, Wizard of Oz, and Alice in Wonderland are my favorite things.  So when I saw this book on sale on Amazon, it had to come home to complete my collection of the new Alice in Wonderland series, from Frank Beddor entitled "The Looking Glass Wars" and "Seeing Red".  I still need to get "M Hatter", but waiting for it to come out on audio, (much easier to get read). This book goes along with the main ones, and has all kinds of interesting little factoids from Alyss herself.  It's so pretty, even Little Man liked reading it with me.
