Migrating Content

Yes.  When I had first started Reddiker Woodes, one thing that I knew I was going to do was have a blog for the dollies, and have one to bring all of my content over for just my Wicca pages from iWeb.  Well, finally getting a chance to do that, and this is what that is going to be about.  This might be a slow process, but the page is up, I'm keeping my original blog name for it and will start to transfer files.   The name: Down the Rabbit Hole, comes from of all places, Alice in Wonderland.  My other blogs pages were named after most of the chapters from the book, and I'll probably do the same thing here.  Just need to figure out the right way to do it.  Now the task of keeping up three blogs, will be quite challenging. The pages, content and most posts here will be more of a "holding" area and "information" blog than actual posts, so I think that will help me manage it much better.  An online Book of Shadows so to speak.

So come along, because, we are all a little mad down here.

Imbolc

Third month of Winter's seed, lovers of the wild now conceive. Romantic nature now at hand, a kiss from Venus upon the hand.

Name of the month of February comes from the Roman goddess Februa, who was also known as Juno Februa.   An ideal time for dedicating or re-dedicating oneself to whatever deity or deities, one worships.  Also a wise practice to cleanse and purify yourself, your dwelling place, and even your property lines before the dedication.  Purifying changes the vibrations by removing negative ones and inviting in positive ones

Imbolg (em-bowl/g), not originally a Sabbat, but a special day set aside to honor the Goddess who was slowly turning the Wheel of the Year back to spring. Milk is a featured item at feasts, & since it’s cold in most places it’s served with honey or a bit of chocolate and warmed.  The powerful fire goddess Brigid presides over this Sabbat.

New Year, New Sacred Space

Wow, what a whirl wind it's been and it's only the 6th of January.  I was able to get all of my altar room cleared out, cleaned (with lemon water) and organized.  A lot of the books and extra supplies I didn't need have gone to DreamWeaver and I'm sure he'll use them very well also. I'm so happy to be able to share this with him and for us to both push each other for the next year.  

How can anyone live without a room of their own?

Cleaning out the room was actually a little harder than what I thought it was going to be. After almost 20 years of books, supplies, and what-nots I've accumulated plenty of great tools, but a lot of them were repeating themselves and that just made me nuts, and harder to concentrate.  With the recent Blue Moon I was able to rededicate my self to my true path. This Blue Moon was like the trifecta of moons and the energy that we've felt in the house is amazing.  So many things have happened and all for the good.  

So hear are pictures of my sacred space cleaned out and with everything I need to work my magick, ha ha ha ha.

    

   

I think I can honestly say I got rid of about 90% of my books. WOW, that's a lot. But they have gone to a good home. Top shelf where the kitty picture is, houses my Dark Realms subscription, and below is my Faery Magazine subscription.

Back of my chair, which as of this posts is no longer around.  It just was not the most comfortable thing and was too low. We've been to the antique store over New Years and although not matching as much, much more comfortable and has arm rests and sits my butt just perfectly.

Refurbished CD cases from the basement.  I had forgotten I had them. The inset color doesn't match, but that can be easily changed, plus it balances out the room and I have shelving for my Tarot decks and other nick-nacks.  And it holds my pillows in place very well. And yes, the picture below has a decent frame now. I really didn't change too much of the layout of the room, kind of hard with fixed walls, but moved out a book case that is not longer needed and replaced with two smaller old CD cases from the basement, that house all my cushy pillows and meditation area now.

 

Top of left shelf.  Houses all my crystals, statues, box for oils and incense finally. I love this little three drawer shelf.  I wish I could remember where I got it, but it's just perfect for all kinds of stuff.

Now to work on my Book of Shadows and finally get it done this year where to I can actually read it, and make it useful.  So excited. :)

Sacred Space Re-do

Yeah, and hello all.  With the upcoming New Years Eve Blue Moon, I've decided to delve right into my faith.  I've stripped my room, going through my books, and getting ready for the new year and a new spiritual awakening for myself.  It's been long overdue and needed.  Here is our master bedroom with everything out of the room and on the floor to be cleaned through and the empty room. I seriously can't believe all of this was in my tiny room. No wonder I couldn't get meditation done.

My Altar Room (Present)

I say present, because this is how it looks at this moment.  Hopefully in the next few weeks, it will be emptied, cleaned, de-cluttered and reorganized. I love that I have an extra closet (suppose to be used for I guess the man of the house, since the walk in closet is just for the female), but we'll never have that many clothes and this is the perfect size for me and me alone.  When we moved into the house I painted it a light lavender with cream colored baseboards. It's so pretty and so calming.  Well, it will be more calming when I clear out some stuff, but needed to get the pictures up that I've had sitting for so long.  For being such a small closet, it has so much room and such great potential.  It smells good, and there is just a sense of peace when I'm in there. MUST GET IN MORE.

Triptychs on The Altar

I know, I know, it's been almost a year getting back here, but it's been a very busy year, still no excuse, but it has been.  I've been in a spiritual slump for a while, with planning the wedding, doing household projects and raising Little Man, but I think that is all about to change.  I have a plan.  I HAVE A PLAN.  The plan is to after the wedding, or even weeks before, take everything out of my altar room, box it up, clean the room from top to bottom, not only just clean it, but cleans it with lemon and sage.  It's been so very long that I've been in there and it's just not right.  Even FireHoth has been trying to get me in there and I've just got other things that need to get done first.  

But that's all about to change. I had this idea for each of the Sabbats to have that particular holiday on my table and everything that I needed to represent it.  Well, about a year ago, I bought these cute little stools, put backs on them, put them in a box along with various other items and never did anything else with them.  With moving all of the wedding invites and papers and all of it's supplies, I unearthed my old mini altars. I looked at them, and decided that they just aren't going to work for what I needed.  I kept about four out of the 15 or so I had, (to of course be used for the dolls) and embarked on a new project.

I'm not only working on a brand new 8x8 Book of Shadows, that will incorporate my love of scrap booking, but on a table top altar for each holiday.  To do this, I've gone in the last couple of weeks through various templates, dioramas, and ideas, and came up with something very easy and will be fun to do. I need something on my table that will have all of the information right at my fingertips for the month, without having to drag out every single book, and that will have basically just three pages of corespondents and notes. I've already made several trips to Archivers, JoAnns, Michael's and Hobby Lobby, and came up with Triptych's.

Triptych's are basically works of art, divided into three sections or three panels, hinged together or folded. Usually the middle panel is the largest, flanked by two smaller ones. These can be as elaborate or as simple as you want.  I'm going with a little more simpler, just because I'm impatient and can be able to store them easier with the way I'm going to make them. At first they were going to be 12x12 shadow box's.  But trying to put three of them together and store them even in my room will be a little challenging.  Once I get a lot of books and supplies that aren't being used, this might be an option later on next year.  But with I'm going to make is basically three 12x12 pieces of heavy card-stock, cut the shape that I finally came up with and even a littel floruish on the top to give them some height.

height.  I'll put up pictures of the template I came up with, but here are some of the fun papers I recently purchased to decorate them.  The main information section will be three 8x8 panels or 6 if you count the backside, but for now I'm just going to concentrate on getting about 13 "shells" done, (8 sabbats and four moon phases and one extra).  I'm so excited about this and can't wait to get started.  Now I'm not sure if I'll get them all made by the end of the year, but the "shells" will be done in just a matter of weeks.  Decorating each will take a little longer. I'm hoping for Yule, or at least Imbolc. But we'll see what the goddess has in mind.
